About the Conference
The International Conference on Optimization and Information Systems (COSI) aims to bring together researchers in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, particularly in the areas of combinatorial optimization, graph theory, information systems, and artificial intelligence.
The 17th edition of COSI, hosted by the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Batna 2, will take place from May 12 to 14, 2026. This event continues the series of previous editions held in Tizi-Ouzou (2004), Béjaïa (2005), Algiers (2006), Oran (2007), Tizi-Ouzou (2008), Annaba (2009), Ouargla (2010), Guelma (2011), Tlemcen (2012), Algiers (2013), Béjaïa (2014), Oran (2015), Sétif (2016), Bouira (2017), Oran (2018), Tizi-Ouzou (2019) and Béjaïa (2025), following a brief interruption due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
COSI fosters a friendly and stimulating environment for discussions and collaborations among researchers from all over the world. Continuing its tradition, the 2026 edition will feature high-profile invited talks, original research papers, and demonstrations of research prototypes.

Paper Submission and Publication
As in previous editions, submissions are invited in two categories:
- Regular papers: up to 12 pages (LNCS format)
- Demo papers: up to 4 pages
Papers must be submitted in PDF format through the Microsoft Conference Management Toolkit (CMT) at:
https://cmt3.research.
Formatting guidelines (LaTeX and Word templates) are available at:
https://cosi.isima.fr/
Accepted and presented papers will appear in the online conference proceedings. Discussions are ongoing with Springer to publish post-conference proceedings in the CCIS series, indexed in major databases such as DBLP, Google Scholar, EI-Compendex, Mathematical Reviews, SCImago, and Scopus. CCIS volumes are also eligible for consideration in special issues.
Conference Topics
COSI 2026 is organized around five main tracks, with a non-exhaustive list of related keywords. This edition particularly encourages interdisciplinary papers that integrate methods and concepts from multiple scientific domains. Many research problems today require expertise spanning several fields — such as astrophysics, molecular chemistry, biology, and social sciences — in close interaction with computer science. Artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and optimization or decision-support algorithms often form the cornerstone of such interdisciplinarity.
Topic A: Artificial Intelligence
· Machine Learning
· Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models
· Explainable AI
· Knowledge Representation and Reasoning
· Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery
· Constraint Programming and Satisfiability
· Social Networks and AI-based Recommendations
· Agent-based and Multi-Agent Systems
· Ethics, Trust, and Fairness in AI
· AI as an accelerator for other scientific disciplines
